DESCRIPTION - The Beagle dog breed thrives on human friendship. A very affable hound that was bred in the beginning as a pack hunter - the Beagle is an ardent playtime searcher. The ideal adventure for this canine is to explore and rummage through forested and wooded areas. She absolutely adores her owner and this in turn creates a fine social family pet.
BEAGLE TEMPERAMENT - While the Beagle is in need of daily activity to remain in high spirits and calm, it needn't take much, perhaps walking fifteen to twenty-five minutes, on a daily basis.
Beagle as pets can make an excellent addition to the family that stays calm and gentle, particularly within its family. A perfect decision if small children are in the household, a Beagle is a breed that can make you content and isn't going to stop seeking ways to amuse you.
CARING FOR BEAGLE - Exercise for a Beagle is a necessary piece of the daily physical upkeep. Go for a quick run or a long walk through a quiet area in the park or woods. She particularly enjoys a scout along small paths and trails. Even so, be sure not to allow this dog off the lead if she's has been enclosed in the home for a while.
If she detects the scent of a small creature on a pathway, she is likely to rush off for a period of time, usually if her energy reserve has built due to non-activity.
HEALTH INFORMATION - For those that own a Beagle, a veterinarian will suggest a particular test is undertaken for hip dysplasia, eye problems, thyroid, and potential knee concerns. The major health problem to be found in the Beagle breed is intervertebral disk disease and CHD.
Beagle dogs can in most cases expect a natural life of between 12 and 14 years - on occasion minor health related issues to look for are epilepsy, cherry eye, hypothyroidism, patellar, chondrodysplasia (or CD), KCS, and glaucoma.
