DESCRIPTION - The Bulldog dog breed features a mean looking expression, but is actually a delightful family pet. Bred initially as a fighting dog, these ferocious canines were used to attack large bulls for the purpose of entertainment.

BULLDOG TEMPERAMENT – this breed is extremely mellow and amiable, despite its angry appearing face. The Bulldog makes a great companion for the family, gets on well with children, and takes pleasure from pleasing its owner. Although it can be a bit aggressive with strange dogs, and tends to be protective of its master.

Careexercise for a Bulldog can consist of a brisk walk once or twice a day. A docile breed that prefers a slower pace, so isn't one for running.

Although this breed can live inside with the family or outside in a suitable kennel if need be, it is recommended that a Bulldog is kept inside whenever possible. These dogs aren't keen on the warmer weather and a not that good with water.

GROOMING – with the Bulldog breed it is important to pay attention to the face wrinkles and other folds near the tail. Clean these areas on a daily basis. Brushing the rest of the coat is necessary once or twice a week.

HEALTH INFORMATION – the health concerns of a major nature with this breed include Elongated soft Palate, Internalized tail, CHD, Ventricular Septal Defects, Shoulder Luxation and Stenotic Nares. On occasion, Vaginal Hyperplasia and Urethral Prolapse are seen.

Specific health tests suggested by vets include Potential Eye Problems, Hip Dysplasia, and Elbow Problems. Also, drooling, snoring, and wheezing in common in the Bulldog breed.
