If a puppy seems a little too tired or fatigued than it might be time to opt for a ‘natural’ route. Although, it’s always a wise precaution to take a dog to the vets for a complete check-up to see if alls well.
If no concerns are noted on a visit to a vets, it might be worthwhile to follow some comments noted here to get a pup acting more alert and feeling better:
[1] Puppies older than six weeks can have feed times restricted to twice per day. It’s often seen that dog owners overfeed a small pup in an attempt to keep him strong and healthy. Although, that can result in a pup showing signs of a short attention span and coming across as lethargic. Cutting back on meal times is often beneficial to a pup's overall wellbeing.
[2] Check on food labels to be certain of feeing a pup food containing a digestibility level in the region of 85 - 90 percent.
[3] Protein is an essential nutrient for overall energy and health in canines. It’s an unfortunate fact that a lot of dog foods contain a high quantity of carbohydrates. To be at their best a dog is in need of lots of protein and meat, even more so for a young puppy. Be certain that all meals offer a source of protein.
[4] Adding in brewers yeast as a supplement at meal times can often give a boost of vitamin B and protein. Or omega-3 fatty acids as these oils are healthy and able to raise concentration in a canines behavior, as well as giving a shine to their coat.
